The Come Singing carers support group meets on the fourth Friday of the month from 11am – 12:30pm at the Costessey Community Centre, Longwater Lane, Costessey, Norwich, NR8 5AH. The group is for carers and their cared for and it provides therapeutic singing, peer support and carer respite.
“Singing of any kind is great, with health benefits for all of us in terms of breathing, cardio-vascular function, release of mood-enhancing hormones, etc. The pleasure and enjoyment of singing with other people can also be hugely uplifting. For people living with dementia and their carers, therapeutic singing groups can go much further than enjoyable singalongs and provide the welcome opportunity of easy sociable time with volunteer support, and a chance to communicate through the emotional richness of music, a language without words.
If you would like to get in touch with the group then please contact Heather Edwards on 01603 452404 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
