Transitions Christmas Party!

In December we will be hosting another Christmas Party for the Young Adult Carers- full of games, laughs and dancing!

Transitions Camping Trip

In July went on a camping trip with a group of Young Adult Carers, as a chance to meet new people, strengthen friendships, gain new experiences and to have some time away from their caring responsibilities. We went to Kingswood, Overstrand, to enjoy the outdoor activities they have on offer and face challenges, one activity being as jumping from great heights!

Transitions 2nd Birthday Party!

In April we celebrated the 2nd year of our Young Adult Carers Transitions Service, by taking a group of 30 Young Adult Carers on a day trip. Last year the young people chose to go to Alton Towers, and the decision was theirs this year too! The young people decided that they would like to spend the day in London, sightseeing and visiting the zoo. They had a great time seeing the sights of London and the animals as well as spending time away from their caring role with friends.

Young Adult Carers Christmas Party!

Our annual Christmas party was bigger and better this year thanks to donations from local supermarkets and shops.  Based on ideas put forward by the Carers and organised by Kat and Louise (Transitions Support Workers) 30 Young Adult Carers enjoyed time for themselves whilst participating in some Christmas themes games and dancing the night away.

Youth Mental Health First Aid

At the end of last year 25 of the Young Adult Carers who we work with gained the Youth Mental Health First Aid Qualification. One of the courses was run in partnership with Norwich MIND who kindly donated the trainers time and resources to help equip the Carers with the skills to recognise and support symptoms of mental health.

An evening at Carrow Road

Thanks to the generosity of NORSE, 15 Young Adult Carers were treated to a fine dinning experience at Delia’s restaurant before enjoying watching the Norwich v Bolton match from the NORSE sponsors box on the 31st Oct.  Pictured is George Nobbs, Leader of Norfolk County who took time out of his schedule to listen to the views of some of the Young Adult Carers whom we work with. Thank you to Mr Nobbs and NORSE for hosting a great evening (made all the better by Norwich winning).
