Norfolk Carers Handbook 2016-2017

The Carers Agency Partnership (CAP) produces the Norfolk Carers Handbook and releases a new edition every year – a process that starts many months before publication. We print 60,000 copies of the Norfolk Carers Handbook each year. The PDF version  is too big for some in-boxes, so here is a link to the PDF of the current edition from the CAP website: http://www.carersagencypartnership.org.uk/en/info-and-services/publications/page/2

The Norfolk Carers Handbook is an invaluable resource for both carers and professionals and has proved to be very popular. A recent Carers Council for Norfolk and Healthwatch report found that: “The distribution of the Norfolk Carers’ Handbook appears successful and the handbook itself is valued by many carers.”

CAP are committed to continuously improving, refining and updating the Norfolk Carers Handbook – as part of that process, they would like offer you the opportunity to provide feedback to inform the development of the 2016-17 edition. They have launched an online survey which will be available to complete until the end of January 2016.

CAP would be grateful for your support in distributing this to as many carers, colleagues, teams and organisations as possible. If you work with a carer who doesn’t have internet access and would like to complete a paper survey, please contact us and we will try and support the request.

Carers Forum

CAP is working closely with the Norfolk and Suffolk (Mental Health) Foundation Trust to support carers of people with Mental Health conditions – they are running a Complex Needs Carers Forum on the 13th January at the Bob Chapman Centre (in the grounds of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital) from 10am – 5pm. Professor David Nutt, a leading expert in Mental Health, will be speaking at the Carers Forum, as well as one of the leading experts on ‘legal highs’ speaking before Professor Nutt.

Carers can continue to access support (information, advice and emotional support – sometimes just a listening ear) from the CAP Helpline over the holiday period (the Helpline will be closed on bank holidays, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day and closing early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve):
