We believe that it is important to provide the support that Carers need, which is dependent on their circumstance and stage in life.
For Young Carers aged 6-16 years old, we run fortnightly Carers’ groups in Norwich, which are an opportunity to have fun, meet other Carers, learn new skills and generally have a few hours to enjoy being a child away from their caring roles.
The service that we provide for Young Adult Carers (aged 16-24) in Norfolk is predominantly a one-to-one service, supporting young people in their transition from education into work or further education, alongside their caring role. On top of this, we offer day visits and residential trips, as well as other social opportunities.
Adult Carers (aged 16 and over) are supported by Locality Leads across Norfolk who provide one-to-one emotional support, as well as financial, social and practical advice and signposting. Locality Leads can meet Carers either in their homes or somewhere that they feel comfortable. They will assist in getting them as much help as is available, directing them to the appropriate opportunities, as well as being a listening ear.
